Abstract
The structure of the complex of 2-ethylpyridine with 2,6-dichloro-4-nitrophenol has been determined by X-ray diffraction. The crystals are monoclinic, space group P21/c,a=11.134(2),b=7.558(1),c=17.586(2) Å, β=104.94(2)° andZ=4. The N+-H...O− bridge of 2.613(2) Å with <OHN=173(3)° is typical for the complexes with strong charge separation and this is confirmed by the IR and UV spectra.
