Abstract
The crystal and molecular structure of the title compound has been determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis. The 12α-hydroxy-ent-kaur-16-en-19-oic acid previously isolated from other sources is found for the first time in a species of theMachaeranthera genus. The unit cell contains three closely similar independent molecules organized into trimers.
