Abstract
Two species of Berberis have yielded 10 isoquinoline alkaloids. In addition to known bases, two artifacts have been isolated — 8-trichloromethyldihydroberberine (I) and 8-trichloromethyldihydropalmatine. An x-ray structural analysis has been made of (1).
