Abstract
Cases of hydrothermal metamorphism of uranium deposits are examined by way of example of Witwaterstand and the Lake Athabasca region, also the metamorphism of individual permatite minerals by way of example of Karelia.
One of the clearest indicators of recent metamorphism of uranium deposits is the migration of the radiogenic lead of uranium ores and the redeposition of the uranium minerals themselves.
A comparison of absolute age variations of uraninites based on Pb207/U235 and Pb206/U238 ratios and the isotopic composition of the anomalous lead of galenas found in the same regions allows one to determine the time and intensity of metamorphism.
An experimental reproduction under laboratory conditions of the phenomena of metamorphism at high temperatures and pressures fully confirmed the possibility of selective transfer of radiogenic lead from uraninite.
