Conclusions

  1. 1.

The results of the study of Xe adsorption by CaA zeolite with rather large crystal dimensions (20 and 32 μm) show that the Xe diffusion coefficients given in the literature, obtained for microcrystalline 5A zeolite, may not be considered as intracrystalline diffusion coefficients.

  2. 2.

An estimated calculation of the effective diffusion coefficient of Xe in CaA zeolite crystals shows that at 303°K, Da ≥ 10−7 cm2/sec. A more accurate quantitative determination of the intracrystalline diffusion coefficients for Xe in CaA zeolite is impossible using traditional adsorption methods.
