Conclusions
-
1.
Depending on the conditions, the bromination of bicyclo[3.3.1]-2,6-nonanedione givesα-bromo ketones that contain either two or four bromine atoms.
-
2.
The cyclic ketals of theα-bromo derivatives of bicyclo[3.3.1]-2,6-nonanedione were synthesized and a study was made of their behavior in neutral and basic media.
