Abstract
The present ambitions and technical means for treating nonabelian loop functional are discussed. For selfinteracting curves the arising curve dependent and in the usual sense nonrenormalizable infinities of the Wilson loop average itself find their counterpart also on the right-hand side of the Makeenko-Migdal functional equation. We see here the indication that the left-hand side has to be subtracted too.
