Summary
Elementary considerations based on the impulse theorem often result in rather simple calculations for bodies travelling at a small incidence. This is also the case for supersonic speeds.
It is thus possible to give, without any intermediate developments, several solutions of the problem concerning the interference between wing and fuselage (lift and moment). Otherwise those solutions could only be reached by a lengthy application of the linear supersonic theory.
The evidence of this method of reasoning makes it possible to estimate some cases which, up to the present, have been quite inaccessible, by the classical theory
