Summary

The activities of glutamate dehydrogenase, glutamine synthetase and glutamate synthase were influenced by nitrogen and carbon sources in the culture medium. These changes were accompanied by corresponding changes in the substrate affinities. In succinate grown culture, the regulation of these enzymes may be mediated through the intracellular levels of ammonia and α-ketoglutarate.
