Summary
The paper deals with a new method to determine the temperature of the solar corona. The method starts from the observational result that the elements found in the corona are distributed over a multitude of consecutive ionisation-stages and leads to the value of 630000° C. Although this method is not an exact one, the result is in good agreement with other methods, leading to a temperature of about 106 ° C.
