Abstract
Powers of up to 10 kW tunable over much of the range 2.5–15.0 μm have been obtained by a team from Southampton University, by pumping caesium vapour with pulsed dye laser radiation. Recent results on stimulated electronic Raman scattering in alkali metal vapours were presented by Dr D Hanna's group at the second national quantum electronics conference held in Oxford in September.
