On the location of a flat ionisation chamber for absorbed dose determination

Abstract

Deals with the use of a cavity ionisation chamber of known volume inside a phantom in order to obtain the absorbed dose in the phantom material. The ionisation chamber is made of the same material as the phantom. It is concluded that consistent values for absorbed dose at a point in a phantom can be obtained from ionisation measurements for any position of the cavity about the point chosen to determine the absorbed dose.
