Abstract
The effect of a tensor component in the force on the binding of a particle in is investigated using the Hartree-Fock and rigid- models. Second-order effects of the tensor force are taken into account in an approximate way. With a variety of noncentral forces that fit the low-energy scattering data, overbinding of persists. For calculations in this hypernucleus, the rigid- model is found to be as good as the more elaborate Hartree-Fock scheme.
