Summary

This paper reviews chiral separations by capillary zone electrophoresis and micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography. The principles of host-guest complexation, ligand exchange and solubilization by optically active micelles are discussed in detail. An overview of practical examples taken from literature is presented. Results from our laboratory are shown to illustrate the potential of these methods. The review concludes by discussing strong and weak points of the techniques together with possible future developments.
