Solar radiationThe effects of solar radiation in aerospace environments on aerospace systems are examined. It was concluded that most materials degrade to solar radiation. The information available on short term effects on materials provides a limited data base. Flight data on coating degradation seems to be confused by contamination. Other conclusions of data examination are listed.
