The use of a bent comb-shaped analyzer crystal in a perfect-crystal SANS instrument makes possible the simultaneous measurement of many points of the rocking curve by means of a one-dimensional position-sensitive detector. This design permits high-resolution measurements with much higher efficiency than standard techniques. Results from our prototype instrument, using seven reflecting plates, are in very good agreement with predictions based on the dynamic theory of neutron diffraction.
