Summary
A thin-layer chromatographic method for the separation and identification of hitherto unknown disubstituted triphenodioxazines in submicrogram amounts has been developed using silica gel plates. The solvent systems used are acetone-petroleum ether (60∶40), benzene-petroleum ether (80∶20) and acetone-petroleum ether (50∶50). The compounds are detected by spraying the plates with 0.05 mol dm−3 sulphuric acid.
