Optical investigation of the Si-H bond and peculiarities in its chemical behavior in various compounds

  • Organic and Biological Chemistry

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

Unlike O-H and F-H bonds, under normal conditions Si-H bonds cannot be described as protonized only as more or less electronized.

  2. 2.

In every concrete case, a change in the electronization of an Si-H bond that affects its chemical behavior must be considered in conjunction with other factors concerned with the structure of the reactant molecules and the reaction conditions.
