1.
The process of the fermentation of excess active slime from units for the biochemical purification of waste waters from oil refineries and from the production of synthetic fatty acids and synthetic alcohols is not efficient; therefore, the incorporation of methane tanks in the design of purification equipment for oil refineries and petrochemical plants is not advisable.

2.
For the purification of wet active slime from oil refineries and petrochemical plants, it is recommended to dewater it on drum-type vacuum filters (without fermentation), and then to burn it together with petroleum mud.
