Abstract
We consider the problem of control of linear, time-invariant, multivariable descriptor (implicit) systems. In particular we examine the effectiveness of an algorithm (which is a generalization of previous work in state space systems) for the design of an output feedback control giving pole placement in such systems. Conditions are presented which ensure that the algorithm produces the required control. We also address the important issue of uniqueness of solutions.
