Acetylcholinesterase Inactivation of Enzymetreated Erythrocytes

Abstract

THE molecular architecture of the red cell membrane formed mainly by lipids and proteins is not known; but it is possible to obtain information about its surface structure with the aid of agents which act on components located at the outer surface of the erythrocyte. This approach has been used to show the role of sialic acids in the electrokinetic behaviour of erythrocytes in an electrolyte medium1.
