Solubilisation von Polyvinylazetat durch Dodecylammonium Thiocyanat

Zusammenfassung

Polyvinylazetat wurde durch Dodecylammonium-Thiocyanat transparent klar im Wasser solubilisiert, nicht aber durch Dodecylammonium-Chlorid. Diese Erscheinung wird dadurch erklärt, daß Dodecylammonium an das Polymere stark gebunden wird mit der Hilfe von SCN−, welches — im Gegensatz zu Cl− -an die hydrophobe Teile des Polymeren bevorzugt herantreten kann.

Summary

Polyvinylacetate is solubilized transparently in water by dodecylammonium thiocyanate but not by dodecylammonium chloride. This is explained by supposing that dodecylammonium cation is strongly attracted and bound to the polymer with the aid of SCN− which is, in contrast to Cl−, accessible closely to the hydrophobic interface of the polymer.
