A simple two-layer model of the planetary boundary layer

Ein einfaches Zweischichtenmodell der planetaren Grenzschicht

Summary

A two-layer model of the planetary boundary layer is suggested. In the surface layer the theoretically and experimentally well studied coefficient of turbulent exchange is used. Above the surface sublayer the equations of motion are approximately solved with a coefficient of turbulent exchange in an arbitrary but not quickly varying height function. By means of the resistance law the height of the surface sublayer is found.
