Description: The steel industry is facing problems such as serious environmental pollution and high resource consumption. At the same time, it lacks effective methods to quantify potential environmental impacts. The purpose of this work is to conduct a specific environmental analysis of steelmaking production in steel plants. The ultimate goal is to discover the main pollution of steelmaking and identify potential options for improving the environment. This paper uses life cycle assessment method to carry out inventory and quantitative analysis on the environmental impact of steelmaking system. Through analysis, the hazards are divided into four major categories, which are human health, climate change, ecosystem quality, and resources. The results show that molten iron has the greatest impact on human health, followed by the greatest impact on resources. The impact of scrap steel on human health ranks third. Molten iron is a key process that affects human health, climate change, ecosystems quality, and resources. In addition, processes such as fuels, working fluids, and auxiliary materials also cause certain environmental damage, accounting for a relatively small proportion. Optimizing the utilization of scrap steel and molten iron resources and improving the utilization efficiency of resources and energy are helpful to reduce the environmental hazards of steelmaking system.

Description: This study addresses a parallel machine production and transportation operations’ scheduling problem with a tight time window associated with the transfer and delivery process. The orders located at the parallel machines need to be delivered to customers by train. Each order must be processed within a limited completion time in order for the product to be matched with the optimal trip to its destination within the delivery period. A mathematical analysis method is used to reveal the impact of tight time windows on the scheduling of production and transportation operations. The order transfer redundancy time and order transfer waiting time are employed to reflect the impact scheduling of production on the transfer process. The order delivery redundancy time and order delivery waiting time are used to describe delivery operations. The goal is to maximize the coordination level of order transfer and delivery, which are reflected in the order transfer time and the order delivery time, respectively. Additionally, a simulated annealing algorithm using the column generation technique was developed to solve this problem. The results show that the use of the system coordination model in this method obviously improves the number of successful transfers and deliveries.

Description: Project Risk Management is crucial in determining the future performance of a complex project. Increasing project complexity makes it more and more difficult to anticipate potential events that could affect the project and to make effective decisions to reduce project risk exposure. To tackle these conceptual and managerial issues, the proposed approach introduces Complex Systems Theory-based improvements into some PRM subprocesses and runs the global PRM process using Agile Project Management principles. We argue that these advanced techniques for managing project risk complexity, notably risk interdependencies, are coherent with the distributed, self-organized nature of agile teams. This new way of structuring and executing Project Risk Management offers the possibility to make decisions more frequently, when needed, with a more distributed authority, and with richer information about anticipation of events and consequences of actions. First results show an appropriation of this combined approach by project members due to agile principles that allows for getting the more reliable information promised by Complex Systems Theory.

Description: In this paper, we propose a new multiple-prey one-predator continuous time nonlinear system model, in which the number of teams of preys is equal to 3; namely, a continuous time three-prey one-predator model is put forward and studied. The fourth-order differential equation is established, in which the prey teams help each other. The equilibrium points and stability are analyzed. When not considering preys help each other, we study the global stability and persistence of the model without help terms. The simulation results of system solutions with help terms corresponding to locally asymptotically stable equilibrium points and without help terms corresponding to globally asymptotically stable equilibrium points are given.

Description: The interaction of elements in a financial system can exhibit complex dynamic behaviours. In this article, we use a system of differential equations to model the evolution of a financial system and study its complexity. Numerical simulations show that the system exhibits a variety of rich dynamic behaviours, including chaos. Bifurcation diagrams show that the system behaves chaotically over a wide range of system parameters.

Description: We present a metapopulation dynamic model for the diffusively-coupled rock-paper-scissors (RPS) game with mutation in scale-free hierarchical networks. We investigate how the RPS game changes by mutation in scale-free networks. Only the mutation from rock to scissors (R-to-S) occurs with rate μ. In the network, a node represents a patch where the RPS game is performed. RPS individuals migrate among nodes by diffusion. The dynamics are represented by the reaction-diffusion equations with the recursion formula. We study where and how species coexist or go extinct in the scale-free network. We numerically obtained the solutions for the metapopulation dynamics and derived the transition points. The results show that, with increasing mutation rate μ, the extinction of P species occurs and then the extinction of R species occurs, and finally only S species survives. Thus, the first and second dynamical phase transitions occur in the scale-free hierarchical network. We also show that the scaling law holds for the population dynamics which suggests that the transition points approach zero in the limit of infinite size.

Description: Heterogeneous information network (HIN), which contains various types of nodes and links, has been applied in recommender systems. Although HIN-based recommendation approaches perform better than the traditional recommendation approaches, they still have the following problems: for example, meta-paths are manually selected, not automatically; meta-path representations are rarely explicitly learned; and the global and local information of each node in HIN has not been simultaneously explored. To solve the above deficiencies, we propose a tri-attention neural network (TANN) model for recommendation task. The proposed TANN model applies the stud genetic algorithm to automatically select meta-paths at first. Then, it learns global and local representations of each node, as well as the representations of meta-paths existing in HIN. After that, a tri-attention mechanism is proposed to enhance the mutual influence among users, items, and their related meta-paths. Finally, the encoded interaction information among the user, the item, and their related meta-paths, which contain more semantic information can be used for recommendation task. Extensive experiments on the Douban Movie, MovieLens, and Yelp datasets have demonstrated the outstanding performance of the proposed approach.

Description: In this paper, a novel multiobjective lightning flash algorithm (MOLFA) is proposed to solve the multiobjective optimization problem. The charge population state of the lightning flash algorithm is defined, and we prove that the charge population state sequence is a Markov chain. Since the convergence analysis of MOLFA is to investigate whether a Pareto optimal solution can be reached when the optimal charge population state is obtained, the development of a charge population state is analyzed to achieve the goal of this paper. Based on the martingale theory, the MOLFA convergence analysis is carried out in terms of the supermartingale convergence theorem, which shows that the MOLFA can reach the global optimum with probability one. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed MOLFA is verified by a numerical simulation example.

Description: The rapidly growing data in many areas, as well as in the biomedical domain, require the assistance of information extraction systems to acquire the much needed knowledge about specific entities such as proteins, drugs, or diseases practically within a short time. Annotated corpora serve the purpose of facilitating the process of building NLP systems. While colossal work has been done in this area for English language, other languages like Arabic seem to lack these resources, especially in the healthcare area. Therefore, in this work, we present a method to develop a silver standard medical corpus for the Arabic language with a dictionary as a minimal supervision tool. The corpus contains 49,856 sentences tagged with 13 entity types corresponding to a subset of UMLS (Unified Medical Language System) concept types. The evaluation of a subset of corpus showed the efficiency of the method used to annotate it with 90% accuracy.

Description: With the wide application of various wireless energy transmission technologies and unmanned aerial vehicle clusters in both production and life, the use of microwave wireless energy transmission to provide a real-time energy supply for an unmanned aerial vehicle network in flight has become an effective way to extend its working time. This paper focuses on the optimization of the energy transmission efficiency and cost in the microwave wireless power receiving process of an unmanned aerial vehicle network. Considering the overall energy transmission efficiency from the power supply terminal to the power receiving network and the cost of the wireless power transmission equipment of the network, we have established a multiobjective wireless power receiving optimization model including a microwave energy emission source and an unmanned aerial vehicle network that receives energy. The model is optimized to select the best wireless power access point and the number of wireless power receiving modules in a network node. In the case study, the optimization model is solved using an evolutionary algorithm, and the solution results verify the effectiveness and correctness of the model.
