Evaluates the effect of bioaugmentation on the activated sludgetreatment of food wastewaters including those containing potato, starch, sugar and milk. Parameters of study include live liquid microorganisms, dosage, aeration time and wastewater strength. Concludes thatbioaugmentation with addition of live liquid micro-organisms improvestotal organic carbon (TOC) removal efficiency and reduces sludgeproduction. Aerobic bioaugmentation is effective in TOC removal frompotato, sugar and milk wastewater but not effective in the case ofstarch wastewater.
