    Description / Table of Contents: Layer-Anions in the Crystal Structures of the Isotypic Compounds Sr2[Ga2S5], Ba2[In2S3], and Ba2[In2Se5]The compounds Sr2[Ga2S5], Ba2[In2S5], and Ba2[In2Se5] have been prepared from stoichiometric mixtures of the elements at temperatures between 1150°C and 1250°C. They are isotypic (space group Pbca, Z = 8) with the lattice constants see „Inhaltsübersicht“. In the anionic part of the structure GaS4-(InS4-/InSe4)-tetrahedra share three common vertices to form layers with rings built by four and eight tetrahedra. The cations are placed between the sheets and have the coordination number seven.
    Notes: Die Verbindungen Sr2[Ga2S5], Ba2[In2S5] und Ba2[In2Se5] wurden aus stöchiometrischen Gemischen der Elemente bei Temperaturen zwischen 1150°C und 1250°C dargestellt. Sie kristallisieren zueinander isotyp (Raumgruppe Pbca, Z = 8) mit den Gitterkonstanten Sr2Ga2S5 a = 1252,3(6) pm, b = 1203,4(6) pm, c = 1118,0(5) pm; Ba2In2S5 a = 1316,7(6) pm, b = 1272,3(6) pm, c = 1178,4(5) pm; Ba2In2Se5 a = 1365,7(6) pm, b = 1318,2(6) pm, c = 1222,5(5) pm. In der Anionenteilstruktur sind GaS4(InS4/InSe4)-Tetraeder über drei gemeinsame Ecken zu unendlich ausgedehnten Netzen verknüpft, in denen Ringe aus vier und acht Tetraedern vorliegen. Die Kationen befinden sich zwischen den Schichten und erreichen die Koordinationszahl sieben.

    Description / Table of Contents: Preparation and Crystal Structure of SrCu2Sb2 and SrZnBi2SrCu2Sb2 and SrZnBi2 have been prepared and analytically and structurally characterized. SrCu2Sb2 crystallizes tetragonal in the CaBe2Ge2 structure type. SrZnBi2 has its own structure type. In both structures the transition metal atoms form with the semimetal atoms tetragonal pyramids, which are connected by common edges of the basis to twodimensional sheets. These sheets are separated in the case of SrCu2Sb2 by single sheets of strontium atoms, in the case of SrZnBi2 by double sheets of strontium atoms in which fourfold nets of Bi atoms are located.
    Notes: SrCu2Sb2 und SrZnBi2 wurden dargestellt, analytisch und strukturell charakterisiert.SrCu2Sb2 kristallisiert tetragonal (a = 4,51 ± 0,01 Å, c = 10,91 ± 0,02 Å, Raumgruppe P4/nmm, z = 2) im CaBe2Ge2-Typ. SrZnBi2 kristallisiert in einem eigenen Strukturtyp (tetragonal, a = 4,64 ± 0,01 Å, c = 21,96 ± 0,03 Å, Raumgruppe I4/mmm, z = 4). In beiden Strukturen bilden die Übergangsmetalle mit den Halbmetallen zweidimensional unendliche Pyramidenschichten aus, die im Falle des SrCu2Sb2 durch Erdalkalieinfachschichten, im Falle des SrZnBi2 durch Erdalkalidoppelschichten mit eingelagerten Bi-Vierecknetzen getrennt sind.

    Description / Table of Contents: On Seleno- and Telluroarsenites, -antimonites, and -bismutitesThe new compounds NaAsSe2, NaSbSe2, NaSbTe2, and NaBiTe2 have been prepared and their structures determined. NaSbSe2, NaSbTe2, and NaBiTe2 build up the NaCl structure with the following lattice constants: NaSbSe2: a = 596.6(2) pm, NaSbTe2: a = 631.7(2) pm, NaBiTe2: a = 636.6(3) pm. NaAsSe2 crystallizes orthorhombic with a = 583 ± 1pm, b = 2427 ± 5 pm, c = 1182 ± 2 pm, Pbca. In the structure there are distorted trigonal AsSe3 pyramids which are connected by corners to chains.
    Notes: Die neuen Verbindungen NaAsSe2, NaSbSe2, NaSbTe2 und NaBiTe2 wurden dargestellt und strukturell aufgeklärt. NaSbSe2, NaSbTe2 und NaBiTe2 kristallisieren in der NaCl-Struktur mit folgenden Gitterkonstanten: NaSbSe2: a = 596,6(2) pm, NaSbTe2: a = 631,7(2) pm, NaBiTe2: a = 636,6(3) pm. NaAsSe2 kristallisiert orthorhombisch mit a = 583 ± 1 pm, b = 2427 ± 5 pm, c = 1182 ± 2 pm, Pbca. In der Struktur liegen Ketten aus eckenverknüpften trigonalen AsSe3-Pyramiden vor.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zintl-Phases with Layer Anions: Preparation and Crystal Structures of the Isotypic Compounds SrSn2As2 and Sr0.87Ba0.13Sn2As2 and a Single Crystal Structure Determination of KSnSbThe metallic reflecting compounds SrSn2As2 and Sr0.87Ba0.13Sn2As2 were prepared from the melt, they crystallize in the trigonal rhombohedral system (space group R3m, Z = 3) with lattice constants see "Inhaltsübersicht".In the crystal structure of the isotypic compounds threebonded Sn atoms and threebonded As atoms together form puckered layers which are isostructural to grey As. The mean values of the bond lengths Sn-As are 277.6pm (SrSn2As2) and 279.1 pm (Sr0.87Ba0.13Sn2As2) resp. Along [001] the alkaline earth atoms occupy the octahedral interstices of As atoms between each second SnAs layer. The single crystal structure determination of KSnSb confirms the results of the X-ray powder analysis, but leads to slightly different values for the bond lengths.

Die mittleren Bindungslängen Sn—As betragen 277,6 pm (SrSn2As2) und 279,1 pm (Sr0,87Ba0,13Sn2As2). Entlang [001] besetzen die Erdalkaliatome aus As-Atomen gebildete Oktaederlücken zwischen jeder zweiten SnAs-Schicht. Die Einkristallstrukturbestimmung von KSnSb bestätigt die aus Pulverdaten abgeleiteten Ergebnisse, führt aber zu leicht unterschiedlichen Bindungslängen.

    Notes: Durch die experimentelle Untersuchung der Verbindungen der Alkali- und Erdalkalimetalle mit den Halb- und Metametallen des Periodensystems ist die stoffliche Basis zur Diskussion des Übergangs von der Metall- zur Ionenbindung wesentlich verbreitert worden. Das Hauptaugenmerk liegt gegenwärtig auf der Aufklärung der Bauprinzipien solcher Verbindungen, welche in dieser Stoffklasse sehr variationsreich sind. Anhand der bisher vorliegenden Befunde wird eine neue Definition des Begriffs der Zintl-Phasen vorgeschlagen.
