Description: Establishing the abundance and physical properties of regolith and boulders on asteroids is crucial for understanding the formation and degradation mechanisms at work on their surfaces. Using images and thermal data from NASA's Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, and Security-Regolith Explorer (OSIRIS-REx) spacecraft, we show that asteroid (101955) Bennu's surface is globally rough, dense with boulders, and low in albedo. The number of boulders is surprising given Bennu's moderate thermal inertia, suggesting that simple models linking thermal inertia to particle size do not adequately capture the complexity relating these properties. At the same time, we find evidence for a wide range of particle sizes with distinct albedo characteristics. Our findings imply that ages of Bennu's surface particles span from the disruption of the asteroid's parent body (boulders) to recent in situ production (micrometre-scale particles).

Notes: Abstract This article presents a characterization of conducive (integral) domains as the pullbacks in certain types of Cartesian squares in the category of commutative rings. Such squares behave well with respect to (semi)normalization, thus permitting us to recover the recent characterization by Dobbs-Fedder of seminormal conducive domains. The conducive domains satisfying various finiteness conditions (Noetherian, Archimedean, accp) are characterized by identifying suitable restrictions on the data in the corresponding Cartesian squares. Various necessary or sufficient conditions are given for Mori conducive domains. Consequently, one has examples of several (accp non-Mori; Mori non-Noetherian) conducive domains.

Notes: Abstract. We study a class of forward looking economic models with heterogeneous agents in a bounded rationality setting. The agents employ the same recursive learning rule to update beliefs but are characterized by different memory parameters. The peculiarity of the learning mechanism is that the learning rate is not vanishing in the limit. Differently from what is obtained in the case of a vanishing learning step, i.e., the stability conditions in the heterogeneous agents case are those of the representative agent model, we show that heterogeneity matters for the expectational stability of a stationary perfect foresight equilibrium and that the stability parameter restrictions with heterogeneous agents are stronger than in the case of homogeneous agents.

Notes: Abstract A hyperinflation model is analyzed under bounded rationality learning. Agents believe in a misspecified model which is correctly specified at theRational Expectations Equilibrium of the model and they adjust their beliefs by means of theLeast Mean Squares algorithm. Convergence of the bounded rationality learning activity to anon-Rational Expectations Equilibrium point is obtained for any set of parameters of the model.

Notes: Geometric analysis of iterated cross-volatilities of asset prices is adopted to assess the stability of the (risk-free) measure under infinitesimal perturbations. Perturbations of asset prices evolve through time according to an ordinary linear differential equation (hedged transfer). The decay (feedback) rate is explicitly computed through a Fourier series method implemented on high frequency time series.
