In this paper we deal with the boundary-element formulation for the axisymmetric transient heat-conduction problem of a transversely isotropic medium. The time-dependent fundamental solution for the axisymmetric problem is used and the time integral is performed analytically. It is shown that the function obtained is separated into steady and transient parts and the singularity at the boundary integral is only in the steady part.
