Description: Gulella annibiodiversitatis spec. nov. is described from a few scattered localities in montane forest above c. 1300 m in southern-central Mala\xc5\xb5i. It is mainly characterized by a smallish (4.9-6.3 mm high), smooth and generally featureless shell without apertural dentition. Gulella menkhorsti spec. nov., has a small (2.3-2.9 mm high) and smooth shell with a six-fold dentition and is probably a restricted range endemic; so far it has only been recorded from the Mpita Forest in southern Mala\xc5\xb5i. A single smooth and small shell (2.7 mm) with a seven-fold apertural dentition from the Misuku Hills in northern Mala\xc5\xb5i also does represent a new species, Gulella crux spec. nov. Another sample from the same area, introduced as Gulella nuchalis spec. nov., has a medium-smallish (about 7.0 mm) and costulate shell with apical spiral sculpture and a six-fold apertural dentition; it is particularly characterized by what looks like an old outer labrum behind the reflected labrum.

Description: Gulella systemanaturae spec. nov. is described from Dedza Mt. in South-Central Mala\xc5\xb5i. The mediumsized shell is characterized by little prominent costulation and a four-fold apertural dentition consisting of angular lamella, labral process, and outer and inner columellar processes. The labrum is sharply angulate at its point of attachment to the body whorl near the angular lamella.

Description: The genus Negulus is reviewed; only four Recent species, restricted to continental Africa, are recognized.\nThe genus is extinct in Europe, being only recorded from Tertiary deposits. A key to the shells of the Recent species (all figured) is supplied. The anatomy is as yet unknown. A sinistral shell of N. abyssinicus is described from among a series of paralectotypes in the Leiden Museum, the first such abnormality in the genus (figured). A fair amount of shell material has become available (among which some historical specimens) so that metric data may be compared with greater confidence. Recent occurrence is established/confirmed for Eritrea, Ethiopia, Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, Zaire, Zambia, Mala\xc5\xb5i, and Bioko (Fernando Poo). The small size of the shell necessitates sampling forest leaf litter, a technique that has not been widely applied in Africa; undoubtedly the genus occurs much more widely in the Afrotropical Region. Pupa obliquicostulata from St. Helena Is. is removed from the genus because of the presence of apertural dentition.

Description: Gulella streptostelopsis spec. nov. is described from a series of localities of mainly between 1000 and 1500 m a.s.l. in Malawi south of about 11°S. The minute, almost smooth, shell (length 2.0-2.4 mm) resembles that of the genus Streptostele (hence the name), but is characterized by three-fold apertural dentition and just under six whorls. This taxon may represent a new genus; pending studies on the anatomy no new generic name is proposed.
