Description: Sino-Russian natural gas cooperation has an important impact on natural gas trade in both Russia and China. Based on the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI), this paper has established a natural gas import and export security evaluation system to scientifically assess Sino-Russian gas cooperation with respect to the Sino-Russian natural gas structure and situation under the influence of different factors. The research shows: the diversification of natural gas imports in China has gradually increased. China’s natural gas imports from Russia are on the rise; When accounting for the export potential of the importing countries, China’s HHIC-PE reveals a wavy upward trend after falling to a low in 2008, and then, upon reaching a peak in 2013, it presents a stable, albeit slightly declining, trend; After accounting for price, the overall HHIC-PE-OP declines, rises and declines again; HHIR shows a sharp decline after it increases, and it then rises again; After accounting for the import p...

Description: Random Forest is a combination classification model based on classification and regression tree. RF model can deal with nonlinear problem, therefore, it is able to predict drought. In this paper, RF model is used to forecast drought on the Huaihe River Basin where more and more serious droughts occur. The runoff of twenty-one stations can reflect the overall drought level on Huaihe River. First, the drought has been divided into three levels depending on the SPI criteria. Then, the most important thirty factors are selected as model variables according to the Incnodepurity index after selecting preliminary screening sets. Furthermore, analysis of the drought level of the hydrological stations during the period from 1963 to 2013 is carried out with RF model. The result shows the average accuracy rate of prediction is 73%. The RF drought model is demonstrated as a new effective drought prediction model to reduce or eliminate the loss caused by drought.

Description: The generalized Pareto distribution (GPD) has proven to be the ideal distribution in fitting with the peak over threshold series in flood frequency analysis. Several moments-based estimators are applied to estimating the parameters of GPD. Higher linear moments (LH moments) and higher probability weighted moments (HPWM) are the linear combinations of Probability Weighted Moments (PWM). In this study, the relationship between them will be explored. A series of statistical experiments and a case study are used to compare their performances. The results show that if the same PWM are used in LH moments and HPWM methods, the parameter estimated by these two methods is unbiased. Particularly, when the same PWM are used, the PWM method (or the HPWM method when the order equals 0) shows identical results in parameter estimation with the linear Moments (L-Moments) method. Additionally, this phenomenon is significant when r ≥ 1 that the same order PWM are used in HPWM and LH moment...

Description: In order to research the mechanical properties of Barite concrete under impact load, a group of concrete compression tests was carried out under the impact load by using the drop test machine. A high-speed camera was used to record the failure process of the specimen during the impact process. The test results show that:with the increase of drop height, the loading rate, the peak load, the strain under peak load, the strain rate and the dynamic increase factor (DIF) all increase gradually. The ultimate tensile strain is close to each other, and the time of impact force decreases significantly, showing significant strain rate effect.

Description: The single phase perovskite ErMnO 3 was synthesized using Er(NO 3 ) 3 , manganese acetate, citric acid and urea by a facile sol-gel method. The gel of ErMnO 3 precursor was kept for 36 hours in 100 °C oven to get the xerogel. Then, the xerogel was calcined at 800 °C for 12 hours in muffle furnace to prepare single phase ErMnO 3 . The prepared sample was characterized by thermogravimetry differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Under ultraviolet light, the photocatalytic activity of ErMnO 3 was studied with methyl orange of 20 mg/L as the simulated sewage. The results show that the ErMnO 3 sample particle size distribution is relatively uniform, the average grain size is mainly around 100 nm. The photocatalytic experiment demonstrates that ErMnO 3 is highly photocatalytic activity for remov...

Description: Cooling capacity of a Helium-4 JT cryocooler may be achieved at a temperature higher than liquid helium temperature. The latent cooling capacity, which should be obtained at liquid helium temperature, is defined as a special part of cooling capacity. With the thermodynamic analysis on steady working conditions of a Helium-4 JT cryocooler, its cooling capacity and temperature characteristics are presented systematically. The effects of precooling temperature and high pressure on the cooling capacity and latent cooling capacity are illustrated. Furthermore, the JT cryocoolers using hydrogen and neon as the working fluids are also discussed. It is shown that helium JT cryocooler has a special cooling capacity characteristic which does not exist in JT cryocoolers using other pure working fluids.

Description: Aluminum has larger theoretical capacity of 2235 mAh/g than that of graphite (372 mAh/g), but it has big disadvantages including shorter cycle life and higher irreversible capacity loss. Improving cycle performance can be obtained via alloying of aluminum. In this paper, two ternary aluminum alloy, Al 7 Cu 2 Fe and Al 73 Cu 5 Fe 22 were prepared. The main phase of Al 7 Cu 2 Fe alloy was Al 7 Cu 2 Fe. The heat treatment increased the proportion of Al 7 Cu 2 Fe. The main phase of Al 73 Cu 5 Fe 22 alloy was Al 60 Cu 30 Fe 10 . The heat treatment reduced the proportion of Al 60 Cu 30 Fe 10 . For two alloys, the heat treatment could increase discharge capacity compared with cast alloy. The discharge capacity was improved by 50%. The content of aluminum in alloys has little effect on improving cycle perfor...

Description: Green infrastructure, such as green roofs, is increasingly being used to reduce ‘heat stresses’ associated with urban heat island effects. This article discusses strategies to identify vulnerable neighborhoods in the City of Chicago, where green roofs could achieve multiple goals to mitigate urban heat-related challenges. Numerical simulations were performed using the urbanized version of the Advanced Research Weather Research and Forecasting model to predict rooftop temperatures, a representative variable for exposure in this study. The model was dynamically coupled with a physically-based green rooftop algorithm as a part of the urban parameterization within the model. Our approach integrates information from multiple sources: social vulnerability indices (a function of exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity), high-resolution temperature simulations over the urban area, and observed electricity (air conditioning) consumption data. The social vulnerability indicators were...

Description: New type one component UV and thermal curable hybrid epoxy adhesive was successfully developed. The hybrid epoxy adhesive is complete initiator free composition. Neither photo-initiator nor thermal initiator is contained. The hybrid adhesive is mainly composed of special designed liquid bismaleimide, partially acrylated epoxy resin, acrylic monomer, epoxy resin and latent curing agent. Its UV light and thermal cure behavior was studied by FT-IR spectroscopy and FT-Raman spectroscopy. Adhesive samples cured at UV only, thermal only and UV + thermal cure conditions were investigated. By calculated conversion rate of double bond in both acrylic component and maleimide compound, satisfactory light curability of the hybrid epoxy adhesive was confirmed quantitatively. The investigation results also showed that its UV cure components, acrylic and bismalimide, possess good thermal curability too. The initiator free hybrid epoxy adhesive showed satisfactory UV curability, good thermal cu...

Notes: : :An indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) using monoclonal antibody (MAb) 2F8 specific to a mammalian muscle protein was developed to evaluate the endpoint heating temperature (EPT) in ground pork and beef. The ELISA response of MAb 2F8 with meat extracts increased rapidly as the EPT increased from 60 to 80 °C and leveled off above 80 °C. Results of immunoblot revealed that the 12 kD antigenic thermo-stable muscle protein, which is common in both pork and beef, can be used as an EPT indicator for heat-processed pork and beef based on changes in the ratio of this protein to total soluble proteins in the meat extract which occurs at the EPT.
