Beschreibung: Sardinella sindensis is economically the most important small pelagic fish species in the coastal area of Qeshm Island. Population dynamics of Sind sardinella from Qeshm Island coastal waters, during April 2005 to March 2006 were studied. The asymptotic length (Lx) and growth coefficient (K) were estimated at 178mm and 1.11yr ^(-1), respectively. The minimum and maximum T.L was recorded at 42 and 172mm respectively. The value of t0 was calculated at -0.17, and Tmax was estimated at 2.7 year. The Von Bertalanffy growth equation was obtained at L_(t) = 178^(1-exp(-1.1 l(t-(-0.17))) for this species. Total mortality (Z) rate was estimated to be 3.48yr ^(-1) (r ^(2) = 0.88) on length-converted catch curve method. The rates of natural mortality (M) based on Pauly's empirical equation, fishing mortality (F) and exploitation ratio were estimated at 1.13yr ^(-1), 2.35yr ^(-1) and 0.67, respectively. Four cohorts were distinguished annually based on Bhattacharya's method with mean length of 56, 89, 107 and 141mm. Maximum recruitment was in September at 18.62 percent. The length-weight relationship was determined as W= 0.000005 L ^(3.1399).

Beschreibung: This project was carried out from November 2008 for about two years. Seven laboratories of the research center including: Chromatography, Instrumental Analysis, Aquatic zoology, Sample preparation, Histology, Plankton and Benthos were selected for the accreditation. The quality manual of the test laboratories was written following the general requirements of ISO/IEC 17025. During the establishment of the system standardization of the test methods, calibration of the equipment, test methods validation, uncertainty estimation of measurement and update and improvement of physical conditions of the laboratories were performed. The technical and quality management competence of the laboratories were evaluated by the auditors from DGA (the German Accreditation System for Testing Laboratories), which is signatory of ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation). The laboratories officially accredited by DGA, after the successful completion of the accreditation process (including implementation of corrective actions for the detected nonconformities). The accreditation is valid from 2009-11-12 to 2014-11-11. Production of reliable results of the test methods from national and international scientific organizations' point of view as well as facilitation in development of bilateral and multilateral relations with them can be considered as the advantages of the system establishment. Moreover, exchange of the relevant scientific information and experiences among the researchers will be facilitated.

Beschreibung: Monthly length frequency data of banana shrimp, Penaeus merguiensis were collected from the coastal waters of the north east of the Persian Gulf, from January 2012 to January 2013. Software package FiSAT was used to analyze the length frequency data. Growth parameters, mortalities, exploitation rate and recruitment pattern were estimated from the carapace length in the area. Based on length – weight relationships, the estimated parameter a was 0.0015 for males and females and b was 2.8015 for males and 2.7852 for females. The estimated growth parameters: L∞=39.5 mm, K=1.8 year^−1 and t0=-0.08 year^−1 for males and L∞=50 mm, K=1.5 year^−1 and t0=-0.09 year^−1 for females. Longevity was estimated 1.67 and 2.00 years for males and females, respectively. The estimated mortality coefficients, were Z=5.9 (4.89 – 6.92) year−1 (α=0.05), M=2.9 year^−1 and F=3.0 year^−1 for males and Z=5.7 (4.94–6.37) year^−1 (α=0.05), M=2.5 year^−1 and F=3.2 year^−1 for females. The length at first capture, Lc estimated from the probability of capture routine was 23.3 mm for males and 24.2 mm for females. Sex ratio (M:F=1.1:1) was significantly different to 1:1. The exploitation rates of shrimp were 0.49 and 0.56 for males and females, respectively which could get higher because the survival of spawning stock after the fishing season is related to environmental factors and has less effect on the next year’s biomass. Recruitment was continued throughout the year but with one major peak in July to November.

Beschreibung: The main fishing ground for shrimps in Hormozgan province along the Persian Gulf are located in the north of Qeshm Island to Sink area with a yearly catch of 1500m2000 tons from east coast of Hormozgan province located in Iranian waters of Oman Sea. Collection of breeder shrimps in important fishing grounds of Sinik to Jask area was started in 1995 for shrimp culture objectives and the present research was carried out in 2001 to 2002 and 2007, aiming at identifying shrimp species, determining frequency distribution of the species in the catch and evaluating shrimp maturity stages in the catch. Samples were collected using swept area method on a biweekly or monthly basis. Result showed that Fenneropenaeus indicus was dominant in the shrimp catch comprising 44.8-59.5% while this rate was 13.534% for Fenneropenaeus merguiensis, 15.7-20.5% for Penacus semisulcatus, 5.5-16% for Metapenaeus affinis, 0d•14.5% for M stebbingi 04.5% for Parapenaeopsis stylifera in the Jask and Sheik areas in 2001-2002 and 2007. CLm500/0 was 34.7mm for F. indicus females, 31mm for F. merguiensis, 34.3mm for P. misulcatus and 27.16mm for M. affinnis in Jask and Sink areas. Tukey test showed that the average carapace length in F. indicus, F. merguiensis and P. semisulcatus caught in Jask were significantly larger than those from Sink area (P〈0.05). Sex ratio was not 1:1 in these shrimp species and there is significant differences between them (P〈0.05). Maximum abundance of F. indicus, F. semisulcatus, M affninis and F. merguiensis spawners, were found during March to June in Jask and June to July in Sinik areas.

Beschreibung: Feeding habits of three dominant species of tuna fishes (Thunnus tonggol, Thunnus albacares, Euthynnus affinis) and dominant species of sardine (Sardinella sindensis) were investigated from December 2006 to November 2007 in the western waters of Oman Sea. Seasonally samples of three species of these tuna and monthly samples of sardine were collected. Feeding studies on 101 longtail tuna (T.tonggol) indicated that the bony fishes were main food of this species (98.3%) and followed by random foods included cephalopods (1.7%) and crustaceans (1.7%). Among the bony fishes, anchovy (66 %) and sardines (25.9 %) were most important than the other fishes. FI and CV for this species were calculated 26.4 and 21.8 respectively. Stomach content analysis of 85 specimens of E.affinis demonstrated that bony fishes were only food for this species (100%). Sardines (49.3%) and anchovy (11.9%) were foremost food items for E.affinis. Moreover FI and CV were calculated 64.7 and 15.3 correspondingly. The stomach of 120 yellowfin tuna (T.albacares) were analyze. Results showed that bony fishes, cephalopods and crustaceans were formed food items of this species .Yellowfin tuna were preferable fed on bony fishes (87.7%) specially sardines(41.2%),flying fish(13.9%)and M.cordyla(10.4%) and followed by cephalopoda (43.8%) specifically Loligo sp.(84.5%) and crustaceans(11.2%) . FI and CV were calculated 38.3 and 25.8.Study on 320 stomachs were determined that zooplankton and phytoplankton formed food of S.sindensis. Zooplankton (crustacean and molluscs) were main food (90%) and phytoplankton (Bacillariophyceae and Dynophyceae) were least food items (10%). Copepoda (crustaceans) with 58% were preferable food and bivalves and after that bivalves (molluscs) with 14%, Bacillariophyceae (8%) and Cyanophyceae (2%) CV and FI were 30.3 and 29.4 respectively.

Beschreibung: Shrimp is one of the most important aquatic animals, that have decreased their stocks in Hormozgan province, especially the eastern province . Evalution of food interaction in shrimp habitats (Estuaries of Tyab, Yek shabeh, Laft and Khouran) was studied with Ecopaht with Ecosim software (ver. 6.5) in Hormuzgan province. After entering the input components (Biomass,P/B and Q/B), model was balanced and outputs were extracted. Results of trophic levels, was close to previous research in these areas for all species in estuaries. Maximum of ecotrophic efficiency was belonged to phytoplankton and other preys that were observed in predator stomachs. Biological future of food web estimated to be threatened based on omnivore index of planktonivore groups. Maximum food competition between the four food models was estimated in detritivores communities in Laft estuary, that may be related to the low density of mangrove in this region. Khamir estuary ecosystem could be more stable, because each impacting group had its own separate ecological niche and special predation territory. key indices in each of four food models were related to phytoplankton communities, this key role has been demonstrated much better in Yek Shovy estuary than others. Future of commercial shrimp stocks will be expected to be in better condition in Khoran estuary compared to other three ones, due to selection of separate ecological niche by predators and High biomass of detritus in this estuary.
