Beschreibung:
A laser heterodyne radiometer has been flown to measure chlorine monoxide in the stratosphere, which has an important role in the catalytic destruction of ozone. The measured values in the 35-38 km region are found to be significantly higher than model predictions, and the drop-off at lower altitudes occurs at a higher rate, even after adjusting the profile to include the solar zenith angle effects.
