Author(s): Fenner Harper, David Bauer, T. S. Jackson, and Rahul Roy In a quantum Hall system, the finite-wave-vector Hall conductivity displays an intriguing dependence on the Hall viscosity. Here, the authors study this connection for quantum Hall systems on a lattice and find that the neat continuum relation breaks down. In the process, they introduce a universal formalism for studying lattice quantum Hall systems and find that, in the low flux density limit, generic lattice wave functions connect smoothly to the Landau levels of the continuum. They also introduce a quantum mechanical method for calculating the electromagnetic response of such systems. [Phys. Rev. B 98, 245303] Published Thu Dec 06, 2018
