Description: An electric dipole moment function (EDMF) for the X 2Pi ground state of OH, based on the complete active-space self-consistent field plus a multireference singles-plus-double excitation configuration-interaction procedure (using an extended Slater basis) is reported. Two theoretical EDMFS are considered: the MCSCF (7)-SCEP EDMF of Werner et al., (1983) and a previously unpublished EDMF based on the MCSCF multireference CI(SD) procedure using a large Slater basis. The theoretical treatment follows that of Mies (1974), except that the Hill and Van Vleck (1928) approximation to intermediate coupling is used. This approximation is shown to be accurate to better than 5 percent for the six principal branches of the OH Meinel system.

Description: During the 1969 and 1970 growing seasons research was conducted to investigate the relationship between remote sensing imagery and soil moisture. The research was accomplished under two completely different conditions: (1) cultivated cropland in east central South Dakota, and (2) rangeland in western South Dakota. Aerial and ground truth data are being studied and correlated in order to evaluate the moisture supply and water use. Results show that remote sensing is a feasible method for monitoring soil moisture.

Description: In this article, event-triggered attitude consensus is considered for multiagent systems with guaranteed fixed-time convergence. Due to the non-Euclidean property of the attitude configuration space, the attitude consensus is more challenging to achieve under the sampled-data setting. An event-triggered attitude consensus protocol and event-triggered condition are proposed based on the axis–angle attitude representation. The fixed-time attitude consensus is reached if the initial attitudes lie in local regions on the attitude configuration space. The theoretical results reveal that the settling time is related to the interevent interval and the algebraic connectivity of the topology graph. We further consider the consensus protocol under a jointly connected graph, and establish the settling time estimation that depends on the switching instants. Numerical simulations are conducted to verify the validity of the theoretical results finally.

Description: The Global Assembly on the Climate and Ecological Emergency was a pioneering civil society-led initiative. It was the world’s first citizens’ assembly that brought together 100 randomly selected citizens from around the globe to deliberate on the topic: ‘how can humanity address the climate and ecological crisis in a fair and effective way?’ For 68 hours over 11 weeks, Assembly Members listened to expert evidence, exchanged their views in facilitated small group deliberations and plenary sessions, and developed the People’s Declaration for the Sustainable Future of Planet Earth, first disseminated at COP26 in Glasgow in 2021. The Assembly aimed to set an institutional precedent for bringing the voices of ordinary citizens to multilateral negotiations, a space where they are largely absent. The Evaluation Report examines the extent to which the Global Assembly upheld principles of good practice in the process design, deliberative experience, and impact.
