Description:
Seven species of Pycnogonida are recorded from depths between 72 and 316 m in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of northwestern Africa. Among these are two new species, Ascorbynchus pudicum and Rhopalorbynchus atlanticum. The latter is remarkable in that it is the first representative of Rhopalorbynchus that becomes known from the Atlantic Ocean, all previous records for this genus being from the Indo-West Pacific.
