    Description: The chemical composition of ferromanganese crusts retrieved during the KK84 (R/V Kana Keoki) and L583HW (R/V S.P. Lee) was determined using methods developed by Haynes, B. W. at the US Bureau of Mines. Major element composition was determined by Atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) and minor elements were analysed using Neutron activation analysis.
