Description: In the range of greater hydrazine vapor pressure, detonation speed depends exclusively on the extent of the ammonia decomposition in the second reaction stage. As vapor pressure decreases, the ammonia disintegration speed becomes increasingly slower and the reaction reached in the reaction zone increasingly decreases until finally, in the vapor pressure range between 53 and 16 Torr, the contribution of the second stage to detonation propagation disappears, and only the first stage remains active. Since the disintegration speed of the hydrazine in this pressure range has decreased markedly as well, no level, but rather only spinning, detonations occur. Temporary separations of the impact front and the reaction zone in the process lead to fluctuations of the detonation speed.

Notes: Summary The efficacy of different hexacyanoferrates(II) in preventing the enteral absorption of134Cs was studied in piglets. As compared to the controls, oral application of134Cs together with KFe[Fe(CN)6], NH4Fe[Fe(CN)6], or Fe4[Fe(CN)6]3 resulted in a strong reduction of the134Cs-uptake by more than 97%. The decrease in enteral absorption depends on the dose of administered hexacyanoferrate(II), whereas differences between the compounds under study were small. The biological half-life of134Cs in non-hexacyanoferrate(II) treated piglets was 21.6±3.3 days (mean±SD).

Notes: Abstract We present a purely vision-based scheme for learning a topological representation of an open environment. The system represents selected places by local views of the surrounding scene, and finds traversable paths between them. The set of recorded views and their connections are combined into a graph model of the environment. To navigate between views connected in the graph, we employ a homing strategy inspired by findings of insect ethology. In robot experiments, we demonstrate that complex visual exploration and navigation tasks can thus be performed without using metric information.
