Notes:
Abstract With an oxygen containing molybdenum nitride catalyst, the rate of hydrogenation of propylbenzene increases with time. This is attributed to the carburization of surface during reaction. Both surface reactivity in chemisorption and superficial chemical composition change during the activation of the catalyst.
