Abstract The thermodynamic properties of aqueous KOH are represented by mole-fraction based equations. The apparent molar volume, and the solvent activity are obtained from literature values of experimental measurements of density and solvent vapor pressure for the range 273–573 K. Solute activity measurements are also available up to 343 K. At the highest temperature the dissociated mole fraction of KOH extends to 0.75. The equations represent the data satisfactorily over this very wide range and are of a form readily extended to more complex mixed systems.
