    Notes: Summary The chromatographic behaviour of As(III), Sb(III), Bi(III), Se(II), Te(II) and Ni(II)xanthate complexes is seriously affected by decomposition effects. Polar stationary and mobile phases acting as Lewis bases cause decomposition of the complexes by displacing the xanthate ligands. Separation of the xanthate complexes without decomposition is possible if reversed phases, especially CN- or DIOL-modified reversed phases, are used.
