    Notes: Abstract Thetin (1) and the betain of-Thiolanyl-acetic acid,5 react with the anhydrides of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) and trichloroacetic acid (TClA), respectively, to give stable diacyl-S-ylides2a,b and6a,b, respectively.
