    Description: De enero a diciembre de 2008 la flota arrastrera camaronera de Esmeraldas desembarcó un total de 322,3 t, el cual representó un decremento del 21.3 % con relación al 2007. Para la obtención de esta información se utilizó encuestas pesqueras (zonas y días efectivos de pesca, desembarques etc.) y biológicas (sexo, estadio gonadal y talla). La flota activa promedio estuvo compuesta por 19 barcos arrastreros camaroneros. La principal especie desembarcada fue el camarón café (Farfantepenaeus californiensis) la cual presentó un rango de tallas de captura entre 12,0 y 20,5 cm (LT), seguido del camarón rojo (F. brevirostris). En esta zona se registró un predominio de individuos hembras en estadio vacía e inmadura.
