Se informa sobre la presencia de 10 especies de Rhodophyceae no encontradas anteriormente en la costa Atlántica de Colombia: Erithocladia pinnata, Kallymenia westii, Gracilaria ornata, Plocamium spec. Catenella impudica, Champia compresa, Antithamnion antillanum, Callithamnion herveyi, Cottoniella filamantosa, Lophocladia trichoclados. Fitogeográficamente interesante es la presencia de Piocamium spec. y Champia compresa, aparentemente relacionada con la surgencia que afecta el litoral de los departamentos del Magdalena y Guajira.

Ten species of Rhodophyceae hitherto not found on the Caribbean Coast of Colombia are reported: Erythrocladia pinnata, Kallymenia westii, Gracilaria ornata, Plocamium spec. Catenella impudica, Champia compress Antithamnion antillanum, Callithamnion herveyi, Cottoniella filamantosa, Lophocladia trichoclados. The phytogeographical interesting occurence of Plocamium spec. and Champia compressa, seems to be related to the upwelling off the shores to the coast of the departments of Magdalena and Guajira.
