    Description / Table of Contents: Pyridine Derivatives from Aliphatic Nitro Compounds. - Synthesis and Reactions of Salts of Substituted 1,3-Di-aci-nitro and 1,5-Di-aci-nitro-3-nitro CompoundsThe synthesis of Mannich bases of nitroacetonitrile, methyl nitromethyl sulfone and methyl nitroacetate and of the salts of several 1,3-di-aci-nitro and 1,5-di-aci-nitro-3-nitro compounds are described. Reaction of acids with these compounds in aquous solution have been studied. Pyridine derivatives are formed from salts of 1,5-di-aci-nitro-3-nitro compounds. This reaction is favoured by the presence of CN groups a t the C-1 and C-5 atoms.
    Notes: Mannich-Basen von Nitroacetonitril, Methyl(nitromethyl)sulfon und Nitroessigsäure-methyl- ester und Salze verschiedener 1,3-Di-aci-nitro- und 1,5-Di-aci-nitro-3-nitroverbindungen werden beschrieben und Reaktionen dieser Verbindungen im wäßrig-sauren Milieu unter- sucht. Aus Salzen von 1,5-Di-aci-nitro-3-nitroverbindungen entstehen Pyridinderivate. Dabei wird ein starker Einfluß der Substituenten beobachtet. CN-Gruppen an den Atomen C-1 und C-5 begünstigen die Pyridinbildung vergleichsweise stark.

    Description / Table of Contents: Pyridine Derivatives from Aliphatic Nitro Compound, II. - Nitrous Acid as a Catalyst in the Synthesis of Pyridine N-Oxides from,. 1,5-Di-aci-nitro-3-nitro CompoundsIt is shown by kinetic measurements that the reaction of the bis(diethylammonium) salt of 1,5-di-aci-nitro-3-nitro-1,3,5-pentanetricarbonitrile (1) to from 2,4,6-tricyanopyridine N-oxide (7) is autocatalytic, with nitrous acid acting as catalyst. Syntheses of pyridine N oxides from other 1,5-di-aci-nitro-3-nitro compounds are described.
    Notes: Eine kinetische Untersuchung zeigt, daß die Reaktion des Bis(diethylammonium) salzes des 1,5-Di-aci-nitro-3-nitro-1,3,5-pentantricarbonitrils 1 zu 2,4,6-Tricyanpyridin-N-oxid (7 autokatalytisch mit salpetriger Säure als Katalysator abläuft. Es werden Umsotzungen weiterer 1,5-Di-aci-nitro-3-nitroverbindungen zu Pyridin-N oxiden beschrieben.
