    Notes: Bei Kondensationen von 1-Dimethylaminomethyl-naphthol-(2) mit unsubstituierten methylenaktiven Estern tritt in allen Fällen nach der Substitution des Esters eine innermolekulare Umesterung unter Bildung von 3-substituierten 5.6-Benzo-3.4-dihydro-cumarinen (z. B. I) ein. Diese reagieren nur dann nicht mit der Naphthol-Mannich-Base weiter, wenn der Ester in großem Überschuß eingesetzt wird oder ein Überangebot an nucleophilen Reaktionspartnern vorhanden ist. Die besten Ergebnisse werden erzielt, wenn 1 Mol 1-Dimethylaminomethyl-naphthol-(2) mit 2 Äquivalenten des Äthoxymagnesiumesters in siedendem Chlorbenzol zur Reaktion kommt. Während die aus Malonester, Cyanessigester und Benzoylessigester entstehenden Benzodihydrocumarine unter diesen Bedingungen stabil bleiben, erfährt das aus Acetessigester resultierende 3-Acetyl-Derivat hierbei schon eine α-Acyl-lacton-Umlagerung zur Naphtho-[2′.1′:5.6]-2-methyl-γ-pyran-carbonsäure-(3) (VIII).  -  Kondensationen des freien Malonesters führen zum 3.3′-Spiro-bis-[5.6-benzo-3.4-dihydrocumarin] (II), während Acet- und Benzoylessigester 3-〈[2-Acyloxy-naphthyl-(1)]-methyl〉-5.6-benzo-3.4-dihydro-cumarine (X) ergeben.  -  Bei einem Überangebot an nucleophilen Agenzien können die Acylgruppen der α-Acyl-lactone abgesprengt werden, wobei vorher Zweitalkylierung möglich ist, wie bei den Umsetzungen von Natriumacetessigester bzw. -benzoylessigester in Äthanol. Im Gegensatz zu den Angaben von A. P. Terentjew wurde als Kondensationsprodukt des Natriumacetessigesters mit 1-Dimethylaminomethyl-naphthol-(2) 5.6-Benzo-3.4-dihydro-cumarin (V) isoliert; das entsprechende Disubstitutionsprodukt konnte als 3-〈[2-Hydroxy-naphthyl-(1)]-methyl〉-5.6-benzo-3.4-dihydrocumarin (XII) identifiziert werden.

IX). Die C-Alkylierung der nicht-cyclischen 1.3-Diketone durch die β-Naphthol-Mannich-Base ist demnach von einer Acylwanderung begleitet.

    Notes: The FLADE potential of Nickel in sulphuric acid has been investigated by means of potential-decay curves in function of time in the pH range 0-2. The decay proceeds through 0-3 plateaus depending upon the time during which the anode is held in the passive state. Neither the adsorption- nor the oxide theory postulating complex oxide layers can fully explain the position of the potential plateaus. It seems that the initiation of passivation is probably due to chemisorbed oxygen which, after some time, is transformed into oxide with a non-stoichiometric and highly defective structure, with a lack of oxygen at the metal/oxide phase boundary and an excess of oxygen at the oxide/electrolyte interface.

    Notes: Aus 3β-Acetoxy-12,20-dioxo-5α-pregnan (II) wurde rnit Bleitetracetat die entsprechende 20-oxo-21-acetoxy-Verbindung hergestellt; diese wurde nicht rein isoliert, sondern als Rohprodukt mit KHCO3 verseift und anschliessend mit Na-Perjodat oxydiert. Nach Methylierung mit CH2N2 wurde der Ätiansäure-methylester V erhalten, aus dem sich durch Verseifung der Acetoxygruppe VI herstellen liess. VI lieferte bei der Dehydrierung VII. Der Abbau von II mit NaOBr lieferte unter Öffnung des Ringes A und Abbau der Methylketon-Seitenkette eine Secosäure, die als Trimethylester der vermutlichen Formel IV kristallisiert gefasst wurde.

    Notes: Mit Diäthyl-D-tartrat auf Celite als Säulenfüllung lassen sich isomere aliphatische Alkohole bis zu C5 gas-chromatographisch trennen. Nur bei den Amylalkoholen 2,2-Dimethyl-l-propanol und 3-Methyl-2-butanol gelang die Trennung nicht. Die Auflösung von 2-Methyl-1-butanol und 3-Methyl-1-butanol war befriedigend. Isomere Butanole und Propanole wurden sauber getrennt.

    Notes: The behaviour of the phase-boundary impedance of anodically polarized Nickel rod electrodes in 0,2-10N sulfuric acid has been investigated by means of AC measurements in the audio range. The behaviour of the capacitive element can be interpreted as being due to adsorption and reciprocal displacement of sulfate ions and oxygen; the ohmic element increases little at passivation. It is probable that the initiation of passivation is due to the chemisorption of oxygen.

    Notes: Different methods have been investigated for the preparation of N-CBO-S-benzyl- L-cysteinyl-N-methyl-L-tyrosyl-L-isoleucine. Condensation of this protected tripeptide with L-glutaminyl-L-asparaginyl-S-benzyl-L-cysteinyl-L-prolyl-L-leucyl-glycinamide affords N-CBO- S -benzyl-L-cysteinyl-N -methyl-L-tyrosyl-L-isoleucyl-L-glutaminyl-L- asparaginyl-S-benzyl-L-cysteinyl-L-prolyl-L-leucyl-glycinamide. Cleavage of the protecting groups of the resulting nonapeptide with sodium in liquid ammonia, oxidation with air in dilute aqueous solution and purification by counter-current distribution gives the desired cyclic nonapeptide amide : (N-methyl-Tyr)2-oxytocin. This exhibits less than one per cent of the oxytocic potency of oxytocin.

This result is a confirmation of the primary discharge of the Me6+ ions.     Notes: Bei der Kondensation des Natriumsalzes der 2-Naphthol-6-sulfonsäure in neutralem Medium entsteht das Dinatriumsalz der 2,2′-Dihydroxy-1,1′-dinaphthylmethan-6,6′-disulfonsäure. Durch Ringschluß bildet sich hieraus das Dinatriumsalz der entsprechenden Dinaphthopyrandisulfonsäure, das durch Oxydation in das innere Pyryliumsalz überführt wird. Die beiden pyranoiden Verbindungen sind Bestandteile des synthetischen „Gerbstoffes QE“. Bei der Kondensation des Dinatriumsalzes der 2-Naphthol-3,6-disulfonsäure entsteht das Tetranatriumsalz der 2,2′-Dihydroxy-1,1′-dinaphthylmethan-3,3′,-6,6′-tetrasulfonsäure.
