Description: The employment of vacuum brushes utilizing sable tail hair for the physical removal of particulates from spacecraft surfaces has become problematical in connection with a lack of compatibility of the bristle with sterilization and biological decontamination procedures required for spacecraft cleaning. An investigation was, therefore, conducted to find a suitable fiber which can replace sable bristle. Felor fiber was found to have the best properties for use in a motorized cleaning brush.
