    Description / Table of Contents: Mössbauer-spectrometric and Catalytic Investigations of the System Pt—Sn—η-Al2O3Tin compounds on an Al2O3-carrier exhibit interactions with the carrier, their chemical properties are different from those of the carrier-free compounds. In reduced Pt—Sn—Al2O3 catalysts of different preparation there are different interactions between platinum and tin. Impregnation of the carrier with platinum-tin complexes gives vicinal locations of both compounds in socalled Pt—Sn ensembles. The modification of the electronic properties of a part of the platinum by tin in Pt—Sn—Al2O3 catalysts causes a decrease of the adsorption of hydrogen and of the activity in the dehydrogenation of cyclohexane, and an increase of the activity of dehydrocyclization of n-heptane.
    Notes: Die auf dem Al2O3-Träger aufgebrachten Zinnverbindungen zeigen Wechselwirkungen mit dem Träger und weisen unterschiedliche chemische Eigenschaften im Vergleich mit den trägerfreien Zinnverbindungen auf. In den reduzierten Pt—Sn—Al2O3-Katalysatoren werden bei verschiedener Herstellungsweise unterschiedlich starke Wechselwirkungen zwischen Platin und Zinn beobachtet. Die komplexe Fixierung von Platin und Zinn am Träger ergibt vicinale Anordnungen beider Komponenten in Pt—Sn-Ensembles. Die Modifizierung der elektronischen Eigenschaften eines Teils des Platins durch den Zusatz von Zinn führt zur Abnahme der Wasserstoffadsorption und der Aktivität bei der Dehydrierung von Cyclohexan sowie zu einer Zunahme der Aktivität bei der Dehydrocyclisierung von n-Heptan.

    Description / Table of Contents: Information on physical and chemical properties, especially on the structure and chemical bonding of M[FeCl4]-complexes has been obtained by measurements of the optical absorption, the MÖSSBAUER effect and EPR. (M stands for a monovalent cation.) The iron(III) chlorocomplex compounds Ag[FeCl4], Rb[FeCl4] and Li[FeCl4] have been proved to exist within the systems MCl—FeCl3 by measurements of optical spectra and EPR.
    Notes: Durch optische Absorptionsmessungen, MÖSSBAUER- und EPR-Untersuchungen werden Ergebnisse über die physikalischen und chemischen Eigenschaften, die Struktur und die Bindungsverhältnisse in M[FeCl4]-Komplexen erhalten. Bei diesen Untersuchungen konnten die Komplexverbindungen Ag[FeCl4], Rb[FeCl4] und Li[FeCl4] mittels einer EPR-Methode bzw. optischer Absorptionsmessungen nachgewiesen werden.

    Description / Table of Contents: The behaviour of Fe ions in partly exchanged samples of zeolite M (mordenite) after heating in air was investigated by means of Mössbauer spectroscopy. Results are deduced concerning the site and dynamics of the ions in the zeolitic lattice and concerning the growth of small α-Fe2O3 crystallites by diffusion to the outer surface.
    Notes: Das Verhalten von Fe-Ionen in teilweise ausgetauschten Proben von Zeolith M (Mordenit) nach Temperung an Luft wurde anhand von Mössbauer-Spektren untersucht. Es ergeben sich Aussagen zum Einbau und zur Dynamik der Ionen im Zeolithgitter und zum Wachstum von kleinen α-Fe2O3-Kristalliten durch Diffusion an die äußere Oberfläche.

    Description / Table of Contents: Relative MÖSSBAUER constants of iron compounds for quantitative analysis of mixturesUsing MÖSSBAUER spectrometry a quantitative analysis of mixtures is possible if the relative MÖSSBAUER constants are known. These were determined and tabulated for such iron compounds which play an important role as steel corrosion products. The utility of this analytical method is verified by some test samples. The advantages of the method are the nondestructive character of the measurement and the distinction of modifications.
    Notes: Unter Verwendung von MÖSSBAUER-Spektren ist eine quantitative Analyse von Gemischen möglich, wenn die relativen MÖSSBAUER-Konstanten bekannt sind. Diese wurden für eine Reihe von Eisenverbindungen, die bei der Stahlkorrosion eine Rolle spielen, gemessen und tabelliert. Die Brauchbarkeit dieser analytischen Methode wird anhand einiger Beispiels gezeigt. Ihr Vorteil liegt darin, daß sie zerstörungsfrei arbeitet und Aussagen getrennt für unterschiedliche Modifikationen liefert.
