    Description / Table of Contents: On the Problem of Octahedra Elongation on La2CuO4, La2NiO4 with a Contribution about CaSmAlO4Compounds with K2NiF4 structure [La2CuO4, La2NiO4, M2CuO2X2, (M = Ca, Sr; X= Cl, Br) und MSEAlO4 (M= Ca, Sr; SE = La, Er)] are showing a tetragonal distortion of the octahedral oxygen surrounding of Cu, Ni, Al. Without La2CuO4 there is no evidence, that the elongation of the oxygen octahedrals may be caused by the Jahn-Teller effect.
    Notes: Verbindungen des K2NiF4-Typs [La2CuO4, La2NiO4, M2CuO2X2 (M = Ca, Sr; X = Cl, Br) und MSEAlO4 (M = Ca, Sr; SE = La, Er)] zeigen eine tetragonale Verzerrung der Sauerstoffoktaeder um Cu, Ni, Al. Es wird gezeigt, daß diese Oktaederstreckung im hohen Maß strukturtypisch ist und nur für La2CuO4 ein Einfluß des Jahn-Teller-Effekts vorliegt.

    Description / Table of Contents: Single Crystals of CoNbO4 with AlNbO4 StructureThe hitherto unknown single crystals of CoNbO4 were prepared. CoNbO4 has AlNbO4 structure with monoclinic symmetry (space group C2h3-C2/m; a = 1212.9; b = 374.9; c = 651.2 pm; β = 107.6°). X-ray investigations shows on ordered arrangement of Co3+ and Nb5+ with well defined differences in respect to oxocobaltates with Columbite type (CoNb2O6 = Co0.33NbO.66O2) and Rutil type (CoNbO4 = Co0.5-xNb0.5+xO2; 0 ≤ × ≤ 0.166) structure.
    Notes: CoNbO4-Einkristalle wurden erstmals mit AlNbO4-Struktur dargestellt. CoNbO4 kristallisiert monoklin, Raumgruppe C2h3-C2/m mit a = 1212,9; b = 374,9; c = 651,2 pm; β = 107,6°. Die röntgenographische Untersuchung zeigt eine geordnete Verteilung von Co3+ und Nb5+, wodurch eindeutig gegenüber Oxocobaltaten vom Columbittyp (CoNb2O6 = Co0,33Nb0,66O2) und Rutiltyp (CoNbO4 = Co0,5-xNb0,5+xO2 mit 0 ≤ × ≤ 0,166) unterschieden werden kann.

    Description / Table of Contents: Contribution on the Chemistry of Oxocobaltates(II): La2CoO4, Sm2CoO4La2CoO4 (A) and Sm2CoO4 (B) were prepared by high temperature reaction and investigated with X-ray single crystal data. (A): D2h18-Abma, a = 549.0; b = 548.8; c = 1254.8 pm. (B): C2v18-Fmm2, a = 531.2; b = 586.3; c = 1186.9 pm. (A) is isotopic with La2CuO4 and Nd2NiO4 respectively. The crystal structure determination of (B) shows the presence of two oxygen octahedrons around Co2+. The different elongation along the c-axis is arised from a statistical occupation of the OII-positions.
    Notes: La2CoO4 (A) und Sm2CoO4 (B) wurden in einkristalliner Form dargestellt. Röntgenographische Untersuchungen ergaben (A): D2h18-Abma, a = 549,0; b = 548,8; c = 1254,8 pm; (B): C2v18-Fmm2 a = 531,2; b = 536,3; c = 1186,9 pm. (A) ist isotyp mit La2CuO4 und Nd2NiO4, für (B) ergibt die Kristallstrukturuntersuchung zwei statistisch auftretende Sauerstoffoktaeder um Co2+, mit unterschiedlicher Streckung längs [001].

    Description / Table of Contents: Ba6CoNb9O30: A New Compound of the Tetragonal Bronze StructureThe hitherto unknown compound Ba6CoNb9O30 was examined by X-ray single crystal work. (Space group C4v2-P4bm; a = 1258.9; c = 400.9 pm) Co3+ and Nb5+ occupy a special position in an octahedral framework. The coordination of Ba2+ is discussed.
    Notes: An der bisher unbekannten Verbindung Ba6CoNb9O30 wurde mit Einkristallröntgenbeugung die Kristallstruktur bestimmt. (Raumgruppe C4v2—P4bm, a = 1258,9; c = 400,9 pm) Co3+ und Nb5+ besetzen in einem Oktaedergerüst eine spezielle Position. Die Koordination von Ba2+ wird diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: About the Octahedra Elongation on A2BO4 Compounds: SrNdMnO4 and SrNdCrO4Single crystals of SrNdMnO4 (I) and SrNdCrO4 (II) were prepared. The X-ray investigation of (I) and (II) lead to the tetragonal space group D174h—I4/mmm; lattice constants: (I) a = 377.7; c = 1296 pm; (II) a = 384.2; c = 1233.8 pm. The elongation of the oxygen octahedra surrounding Mn3+ and Cr3+ are discussed.
    Notes: SrNdMnO4 (I) und SrNdCrO4 (II) wurden in einkristalliner Form präpariert. Die röntgenographische Untersuchung ergab tetragonale Symmetrie, Raumgruppe D174h—I4/mmm, Gitterkonstanten: (I): a = 377,7; c = 1296 pm und (II): a = 384,2; c = 1233,8 pm. Die Streckung der Oktaeder um Mn3+ und Cr3+ wird diskutiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: First Magnetoplumbite Structure Including Rare Earth Ions: Nd2Fe22+Fe133+Al9O38The hitherto unknown compound Nd2Fe15Al9O38 with magnetoplumbite structure was prepared. The symmetry of the isolated red-brown single crystals was determined by X-ray single crystal work (space group D6h4—P63//mmc; a = 568.7; c = 2 223 pm; Z = 2) and the distribution of Fe and Al to the metal positions was identified.
    Notes: Erstmals wurde eine Verbindung der Magnetoplumbitstruktur mit Lanthanoidionen in reiner und einkristalliner Form dargestellt. Die Röntgenstrukturanalyse ergibt hexagonale Symmetrie, Raumgruppe D6h4—P63/mmc; a = 568,7; c = 2 223 pm, Z = 2. Die Metall-verteilung der von Fe und Al statistisch besetzten Positionen wurde bestimmt.
