    Description / Table of Contents: α-Alkoxy- and α,α-Dialkoxysubstituted Phenylacetyl(pentacarbonyl)metallates and Pentacarbonyl[alkoxy(benzyl)carbene] Complexes of Chromium and TungstenIn the reaction of pentacarbonyl[methoxy(phenyl)carbene]chromium(O) and -tungsten(o) with equivalent to tenfold amounts of sodium methoxide and ethoxide, three competing reactions are observed: Cleavage of the (Ccarbene)—O—CH3 bond, addition of an alcoholate ion to the carbene carbon atom with succeeding alkyl-acyl rearrangement to give (1,1-dialkoxyphenylaeetyl)Pentacarbonylmetallates and addition of a hydride ion with succeeding rearrangement to give (1-alkoxyphenylacetyl)pentacarbonylmetallates. The acyl metallates can partly be Precipitated as tetramethylammonium salts partly alkylated to give the corresponding pentacarbonyl[alkoxy(α,α-dialkoxy-or α-alkoxybenzyl)carbene] complexes. The nature and the relative amounts of the isolated compounds strongly depend on the reactants.
    Notes: Bei der Reaktion von Pentacarbonyl[methoxy(phenyl)carben]chrom(o)und -wolfram(o) mit äquivalenten bis 10fachen Mengen Natriummethylat und -äthylat werden drei Konkurrenzreaktionen beobachtet: Verseifung der (Ccarben)—O—CH3-Gruppe, Addition eines Alkoholations an den Carbenkohlenstoff mit anschließender Alkyl-Acyl-Umlagerung zu (1,1-Dialkoxyphenylacetyl)pentacarbonylmetallaten und Addition eines Hydridions mit anschließender Umlagerung zu (1-Alkoxyphenylacetyl)pentacarbonylmetallaten. Die Acylmetallate können z. T.als Tetramethylammoniumsalze gefällt, z. T. zu den entsprechenden Pentacarbonyl[alkoxy(α,α-dialkoxy- bzw. α-alkoxybenzyl)carben]-Komplexen alkyliert werden. die Art der isolierten Verbindungen und ihr Mengenverhältnis sind stark von den Reaktionspartnern abhängig.

    Description / Table of Contents: Photochemical Synthesis of Tetracarbonyl-η4-cyclooctatetraene Tungsten(0)The photochemical reaction of W(CO)6 with cyclooctatetraene produces tetracarbonyl-η4-cyclooctatetraene tungsten(0) (5) in good yields. During prolonged irradiation tricarbonyl-6-cyclooctatetraene tungsten(0) (3) is formed.
    Notes: Die photochemische Reaktion von W(CO)6 mit Cyclooctatetraen führt in guten Ausbeuten zu Tetracarbonyl-η4-cyclooctatetraen-wolfram(0) (5). Bei längerer Bestrahlung entsteht hieraus Tricarbonyl-η6-cyclooctatetraen-wolfram(0) (3).
