Description / Table of Contents:
The interaction between PCl5 and [NH3OH]Cl or between PCl5, PCl3 and [NH3OH]Cl yields, according to the experimental conditions, the compounds [Cl3P=N—PCl3]Cl, [Cl3P=N—PCl3][PCl6], and Cl3P=N—P(O)Cl2. The first one, P2NCl7, is the first stable reaction product which can be isolated. From C6H5PCl2, PCl5, and [NH3OH]Cl, the salt-like compounds [C6H5 P(Cl)2=NP(Cl2)C6H5]Cl and [C6H 5P(Cl2)=N—P(Cl)2C6H5][PCl6] are formed.A mechanism of this reaction type is proposed.
Notes:
